Who will be camped where?
Please go to http://fortknox.maineguide.com/ and download a copy of the fort brochure.
Confederate Soldiers and Civilians - In tents on Battery A. (civilians may also be in “Unity”)
Union Soldiers only – Garrisoned inside fort on cots (provided). On second floor of Officers’ Quarters
Union Civilians – In tents in “town” aka, “Unity”, located in picnic area.
Union HQ – inside first floor Officers’ Quarters
Civilians - In tents in “Unity” located in picnic area
Authentic Campaigners - In field area behind picnic ground as weather permits.
USNPL - Garrisoned in case-mates
Union Artillery - In tents along front of fort.
Medical and USSC - In tents near Visitor and Educational Center
Sailors and Ships’ crews- On board respective ships.
Motel Militia – We are working on special rates at local campgrounds and motels. Will post soon.
Comfort Station -(ice, water, first aid, etc) Next to Battery B Doghouse.
***There will be a limited number of smaller rooms for mixed Union groups wishing to be together. Please inquire. These will go on a first paid, first filled basis.
****Anyone requiring special assistance, please notify us as soon as possible so we may make arrangements.
Civilians: Please be sure to bring your Mourning Attire to be worn for the parade as well as the Memorial Service.
Also, your best visiting attire as we’re having a wedding!
